Who is Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of the country. He was born on 14 November 1889 in Allahabad. Pandit Nehru received his early education from home and private teachers. At the age of 15, Pandit Nehru went to England and lived there for two years in Harrow. After this he got admission in the University of Cambridge and from here he got a bachelor’s degree in natural science. He returned to India in 1912 and joined politics.
Pandit Nehru, became the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee in September 1923. He had made an important contribution to the country’s independence and for this he was also a part of many movements. Jawaharlal Nehru had set the goal of implementing Quit India in the meeting of the All India Congress Committee held in Mumbai on 7 August 1942. After this, on 8 August, he was arrested along with other leaders. This was the last time he had to go to jail. After this he was released in 1945. After this, after the independence of the country, he was elected the first Prime Minister of the country.
