Main Ingredients to Make Dahi Vada

So that you can enjoy delicious chaat sitting at home. And you will not have to put much effort to make it. If you also want to make Dahi Vada at home, then you will need the following ingredients.

Serving – For 2-3 people

Ingredients for making Dahi Vada-

  • 1/2 cup washed urad dal
  • 1 cup washed moong dal
  • 2 inch ginger chunks
  • A green chili
  • Some green coriander
  • a pinch asafetida
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • oil for frying
  • 2 1/2 cups Curd , whipped

For Garnish

  • Red sauce
  • Green chutney
  • Roasted Cumin Powder
  • Chat masala
  • Kashmiri red chili powder
  • Green coriander finely chopped

How to Make Dahi Vada Recipe

As we told, Dahi Vada is eaten in some way or the other in almost the whole country, so obviously the method of making it will also be different everywhere. Some like to make it only of urad dal, while some like to eat it by adding tempering. But today we are going to tell you how to make soft and tasty Dahi Vada in a special way, which is very easy to make. So try this dahi Vada recipe, after eating it, people will not be able to live without praising your dahi Vada chaat.

Step 1 – First of all, soak the lentils in a separate agar vessel for overnight.

Step 2 – Then drain their water and grind both the pulses coarsely in a mixer. While grinding the lentils, add ginger and 2-3 spoons of water.

Step 3 – Now take out the prepared batter in a vessel. Add salt and asafetida as per taste and beat it well with hands for 2-3 minutes so that it becomes light and fluffy. (Keep in mind that you have to pour the batter in one direction)

Step 4 – To check whether the batter is whipped right or not, take water in a bowl and add a little paste to it. If the paste floats in water, then the batter is perfect for making Vada.

Step 5 – Now crush and crush green chilies and green coriander finely and mix them in the batter. And keep it covered for 10 minutes.

Step 6 – Till then put oil in the pan on the gas and keep it for heating.

Step 7 – On the other hand, take about a liter of water in a vessel and add a little salt to it. (Keep in mind that the water should neither be too cold nor hot, the water form should be at the temperature)

Step 8 – When the oil becomes hot, put the Vada’s of the prepared batter in the pan for frying, you can keep the size of the Vada small or big as per your choice. Keep the gas flame medium.

Step 9 – Fry the Vada’s on medium flame till they turn golden brown.

Step 10 – Then take out the Vada’s from the oil and put the salty water solution which we have prepared and leave it in the water for 10 minutes.

Step 11 – Make Vada’s in the same way with the rest of the batter.

Step 12 – Take curd in a vessel and add salt and one teaspoon sugar as per taste and beat it well.

Step 13 – Now squeeze the Vada from the water and put it in the prepared curd and let it soak in the curd for 10 minutes. If you want, you can keep it in the fridge.

Step 14 – Now take out curd and Vada in the serving plate and put some extra curd on top.

Step 15 – Then add sweet chutney, green chutney, black salt, chaat masala, cumin powder, red chili powder on it.

Step 16 – Garnish with green coriander leaves on top. If desired, pomegranate seeds or sev bhujia can also be added. And just like the market delicious Dahi Vada is ready to serve.
