Acne – When you are under stress, you produce more cortisol. In exchange for cortisol, the hypothalamus produces CRH. CRH stimulates oil production around the hair follicles, and these oil productions can clog your pores and cause acne.

Dark Circles Under The Eyes – Dark circles under the eyes are due to swelling or puffiness. These become quite common with age as the muscles that support the eyes become weak. However, due to stress, sleep is not possible, due to which fine lines or uneven pigmentation etc.

Wrinkles – Due to stress, the proteins present in your skin start changing, due to which the elasticity of the skin starts losing. Wrinkles start appearing on the skin due to reduced elasticity.

Rash – Your immune system can weaken due to stress. A weakened immune system can lead to dysbiosis, which results in an imbalance of bacteria in your gut and skin. When the imbalance is seen on the skin, there may be rash and redness.

Dry Skin – Certain proteins and lipids on the outer layer of your skin play an important role and help keep the skin hydrated. It also helps to protect your skin from within. If your outer layer is not working properly due to stress, then your skin can become dry and itchy.

Face Flushing – Your breathing habit starts changing due to stress, due to which your face starts looking very bad at times. However, this is not permanent.

White Hair and Hair Loss – It is well known that due to stress, the hair starts turning white quickly. Recently scientists have found out the reason behind this. Actually, a pigment called melanin is produced from a cell called melanocyte which is responsible for its colour. However, due to stress, its production is affected and hair growth is also affected due to which a lot of hair fall starts.
