Just a few days ago, actress Meera Chopra had told that many indigenous designers had refused to give her clothes for the Cannes Film Festival and all wanted to give their clothes to Deepika Padukone. Now, actress Helly Shah, who reached Cannes to launch the poster of her first film Kaya Palt after gaining popularity on TV, has also mentioned this.
The actress, who has done successful TV shows like Swaragini, Ishq Mein Marjawan, Sufiana Pyaar Mera, has revealed in her recent interview that she had a lot of trouble getting outfits for the Cannes red carpet appearance.

Helly Shah told in the interview that she wanted to wear indigenous designers, but many designers did not give her outfits. Haley told that when the planning started that she had to go to Cannes, her manager had contacted many designers for the outfits. But when the time came, except some designers, many designers refused to give me the outfit. At that time we decided that we approach international designers. I wanted to wear an Indian designer on this occasion, it would have been a great feeling, but alas it didn’t happen.
In the same interview, Haley also admitted that people underestimate TV actors in front of Bollywood actors. Haley said, I have also faced these things many times, but I have never said anything about it. We have been given the tag of TV. When I go to audition for a film, many people used to say, Hey you have done a lot of work in TV, as if it is a wrong thing to be like. This can be very demotivating. I think it will take a long time before everyone gets equal treatment.
